چکیده
Efficient microalgae harvesting is a great challenge hindering diverse industrial applications of microalgae. Flocculation regarded as an effective and promising technology for harvesting. In this study, sulfate (Al2(SO4)3 Fe2(SO4)3) chloride flocculants (AlCl3 FeCl3) were used to harvest Chlorella vulgaris. conditions, including flocculant dose, flocculation time, stirring speed, pH, optimized, effects on microalgal cell status, floc characteristics, biomass composition, algal re-culture, media recycling investigated. All exhibited efficient efficiency (93.5–98.8%) with lower doses salts (60 mg/L culture) higher (100 culture). The tested had no obvious influence composition (including lipids, carbohydrates, proteins, carotenoids), cells in flocs could efficiently regrow. spent medium all treatments was successfully recycled subsequent growth, thus reducing dependency fresh medium.

Biogenic hydrogen and methane production from Chlorella vulgaris and Dunaliella tertiolecta biomass
BACKGROUND Microalgae are a promising feedstock for biofuel and bioenergy production due to their high photosynthetic efficiencies, high growth rates and no need for external organic carbon supply. In this study, utilization of Chlorella vulgaris (a fresh water microalga) and Dunaliella tertiolecta (a marine microalga) biomass was tested as a feedstock for anaerobic H2 and CH4 production. RES...

The basic requirements for high-density photoautotrophic microalgal cultures in enclosed photobioreactors are a powerful light source and proper distribution of light, efficient gas exchange, and suitable medium composition. This article introduces the concept of balancing the elemental composition of growth medium with biomass composition to obtain high-density cultures. N-8 medium, commonly u...

Algae are sustainable sources of biomass for fuel, food, feed and essential for their growth are light, CO2, and inorganic nutrients like nitrogen and phosphorous. The aim of our study was to explore the effect of different carbon sources on biomass accumulation in microalgae Chlorella vulgaris and its ability to remove N and P compounds during its cultivation in aquaculture wastewater. Microal...
